Introducing Our First Production Run: Union Pacific Car #119 "Kenefick"
We are thrilled to announce our inaugural production run of Union Pacific Car #119 in HO scale, meticulously designed to capture its modern-day appearance. This iconic railcar will be offered in five unique versions, each featuring stunning craftsmanship and attention to detail. Highlights include a fully lighted interior, operational marker lights, tail lights, and independently controllable ditch lights. Additionally, each model is tailored with specific details such as antenna arrangements, accurate trucks, underbody features, and distinctive roof details to reflect the prototype faithfully.

Note: While an 18-inch radius is functional, the car's appearance on such curves might seem less realistic. For optimal aesthetics, a radius of 22 inches or larger is recommended.
About the Prototype:
Union Pacific Car #119, fondly known as "Kenefick," has been a distinguished member of Union Pacific's business car fleet for decades, embodying both history and elegance on rails. Originally constructed in 1950 as coach No. 5446, this railcar's journey began as a standard passenger coach, but its destiny would soon change. It underwent a significant transformation in 1963, emerging as business car No. 99, fully equipped to serve Union Pacific's corporate and ceremonial purposes. The railcar acquired its iconic name, "Kenefick," in 1988, honoring former Union Pacific President John C. Kenefick, a key figure in the company's storied history.
One particularly solemn moment came in December 2018 when "Kenefick" played a key role in President George H.W. Bush's funeral train. Draped in tribute, car #119 formed part of the consist that carried the 41st President of the United States on his final journey. This heartfelt event highlighted the railcar's significance within Union Pacific's fleet, as it served not only as a functional piece of rolling stock but also as a meaningful connection to American history and tradition.
Another notable occasion for "Kenefick" occurred in 2019 during the grand excursion of Big Boy No. 4014, the world's largest operational steam locomotive. As this legendary locomotive toured the country, showcasing the might and beauty of steam-era engineering, "Kenefick" brought up the rear, contributing its elegance and historical depth to the iconic train consist.
