DCC and Sound Equipped Model
Introducing our N scale locomotive, inspired by one of the all-time favorites—the Fairbanks Morse 2400 horsepower, single engine, six-axle Train Master. The FM H-24-66, also known as the Train Master, is a diesel-electric locomotive produced by Fairbanks-Morse and its licensee, the Canadian Locomotive Company, between 1953 and 1957. Here are some key details about it:
Power It was powered by a 12-cylinder, opposed-piston two-stroke diesel engine, producing 2,400 horsepower.
Configuration: The locomotive had a C-C wheel arrangement, meaning it had six axles.
Performance It could reach a maximum speed of 65-80 mph and had a tractive effort of 112,000 lbf
Usage: The Train Master was used primarily in the United States and Canada for both freight and passenger services.
Challenges: Despite its power, it faced issues with maintenance and acceptance in the market due to its advanced technology for the time.
It was a powerful and innovative locomotive, but it was a bit ahead of its time, which led to its limited production and eventual phase-out. Just like all Atlas N scale locomotives, it boasts a reliable, high-performance mechanism and incredible attention to detail.
